Dhakal completed her schooling at Himalaya Secondary School and pursued further studies at Gorkha Campus before earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She began her professional career as a teacher, teaching English at Janakalyan Secondary School for approximately six to seven years. Her early experience in education helped shape her commitment to social development and community service.

On May 21, 2011, she moved to Canada with her family and settled in Brampton, Ontario.
